Craigholme School
Reviews | News | Alumni School ProfileCraigholme School is widely recognised as a leading provider of independent education. We offer a modern Scottish curriculum for girls aged 5-18 years and a co-educational nursery for children aged 3-5 years.
Our exam results are consistently high and we are amongst the top achieving independent schools in Scotland. In our most recent exams, pupils achieved 100% pass rate at Standard Grade and 92% at S5 Higher.
Craigholme is the only independent school in the west of Scotland that caters exclusively for girls. The outstanding performance of pupils in all-girls' schools is well documented. Single-sex education provides distinct advantages. It allows girls to avoid subject stereotyping and show interest without inhibition; and provides an empowering learning environment where females hold positions of responsibility as a matter of course.
Craigholme's teaching approach is geared specifically to the requirements of girls. Boys and girls mature at different rates, and consequently they learn in different ways. An all-girl education further enables female students to realise their academic and personal potential, and develop the skills and confidence to speak for themselves.
With over 500 pupils, the school has a warm and welcoming family atmosphere. Our size affords us to offer smaller classes with an average of 15 pupils. School CriteriaIndependent private girls day school in Lanarkshire, Scotland. 3 to 18, 520+ pupils, Non-Denominational.
