Edgehill College

Edgehill College is a co-educational Methodist Independent Boarding and Day School. Founded in 1884, it is one of a group of schools owned by the Methodist Church and run by the Board of Management for Methodist Colleges and Schools.

The College comprises the Senior School, which accepts girls and boys as full boarders, weekly boarders or day pupils between the ages of 11 and 18 years; the Preparatory School which accepts both day and boarding pupils from 4 to 11 years of age; the Kindergarten which takes children from three years of age; and lastly the Nursery, which takes babies from 12 weeks.

Set in beautiful grounds of over 50 acres, with excellent facilities, the College is on the outskirts of the historic town of Bideford, and within easy reach of Devon's beautiful rolling countryside, glorious coast line, beaches and moors.

The school has a current roll of over 240 students. Class sizes are small and are usually around 15 pupils. Being a small school we are able to develop the individual: the personal care we give to pupils is very much an integral part of our ethos. We offer a broad range of subjects at both GCSE and A' Level. To complement their academic studies, students are encouraged to develop their leisure interests in many areas including Sport, Music, Drama and Art.

The campus buildings are well equipped and include four spacious Science laboratories, the school hall, the library, the music rooms together with their practice rooms, and the English, Maths, Modern Languages, Geography, History, Business Studies and Drama Departments, a newly refurbished and equipped IT Suite, Art & Design and Technology buildings and a Sixth Form Study Centre.

Sports facilities are extensive and include a gymnasium, netball and tennis courts, a large sports hall, an all-weather pitch, a grass running track and pitches for cricket, hockey, football and rugby. For Drama there is the drama studio, the main school hall with stage, in addition to our modern and state of the art 450 seat Theatre.
