School Profile

Established in 1979, we are an international school in central London with small classes (average class size: 16). We are a non-selective, inclusive school, specialising in teaching to different ability groups.

Teaching and learning is driven by best practice utilising aspects of the English and international curricula. In September 2006, the Primary School became a 'Primary Years Candidate School', so beginning the path towards authorisation to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (www.ibo.org). The Secondary School followed closely behind in January 2007 and is now a 'Middle Years Candidate School'. At the age of 15/16 students in addition take a core group of IGCSE examinations (International General Certificate of Secondary Education). After their IGCSE's, students have the option to take A' Levels with us, graduating from school when they are 18 years old.

Throughout ICS there is a specialist Foundation English for Education department, which provides intensive English for students aged 3 - 18 at all levels, year-round.

Furthermore, a strong Special Educational Needs Department supports students in all areas of the School. Our Special Education Needs Department includes an onsite educational psychologist, a speech therapist, an occupational therapist, as well as our student support coordinator and learning support assistants.

Our students and teachers come from over 55 different countries and the ICS community includes children whose parent's work for multinational companies, embassies, universities, medical institutions, banks and alike.
